It is detectable as early as 7 to 8 days after ovulation. The levels of HCG will normally double every 2 or 3 days in the pregnancy.

HCG levels normally peak at the 8 to 10 weeks stage of your pregnancy. Level of HCG can vary at any given time during your pregnancy.

Miscarriage and entopic pregnancy typically show lower levels of HCG. Though this is not an exact science – many perfectly normally pregnancies can display low levels of HCG.
